During the meeting, the Chairman of the Committee Viktor Chumak and Head of secretariat Yuriy Sorochyk informed on the results of cooperation between the Committee and the Council of Europe in the field of anti-corruption projects that lasted till 2009. They also discussed current priorities of anti-corruption policy in Ukraine.

According to V.Chumak, one of the key priorities of the future work of the Committee, except the consideration of relevant anti-corruption laws, has to be comprehensive anti-corruption expertise of draft regulation to be considered by the Verkhovna Rada.

M.Lorenzoni stressed on the need for detailed analysis of previous cooperation between Ukraine and the Council of Europe to identify exactly which areas of collaboration improved the anti-corruption policy in Ukraine.

Participants of the meeting discussed also the potential of NGOs in implementing anti-corruption policy, drawing attention to the need of building broad coalitions between citizens and politicians, to anti-corruption initiatives have been successful.
